3rd edition · Srinagar
A five-day race and recovery journey through peak Chinar autumn. Sunday, 25 October 2026.
Race Day
25 Oct 2026
Distances
21.0975 / 42.195 km
Total Climb
≈ 960 m
Half Cut-off
3 hours
The thing nobody tells you
The Kashmir Marathon climbs approximately 960 metres. The half marathon has a three-hour cut-off that applies to every age band, including veterans. Most people flying in will discover both of those facts somewhere around kilometre fifteen.
“You train for the race. We plan everything around it.”
Course, section by section
KM 0–8
The Boulevard
Flat and fast along the Boulevard with Dal Lake on your shoulder. Quicker than it feels, which is exactly the problem.
KM 8–16
Zabarwan foothills
Long, shallow gradients that never quite let you settle into a rhythm.
KM 16–24
Shankaracharya shoulder
The steepest sustained climb of the day, and where the half-marathon cut-off starts to bite.
KM 24–32
Orchard roads
Rolling orchard roads through Chinar country. Exposed, and warmer by now than the start line suggested.
KM 32–42
The descent
A long descent back down to the lake. Quad-punishing after the climb, but the finish comes on flat ground.
The honest fit check
Tell us your distance and your most recent half-marathon time on a flat city course, and we'll tell you honestly whether the cut-off is a real risk — before you book, not after your balance has cleared.
Question 1 of 2
The journey

Day 1 · Thu 22 Oct
Land in Srinagar, settle in, and meet the group over dinner. The evening closes with a course briefing that covers the climb, the cut-off and the weather in plain terms.

Day 2 · Fri 23 Oct
An easy shakeout run to loosen off the flight, then the city at an unhurried pace. Bib collection is handled as a group.

Day 3 · Sat 24 Oct
Nothing is scheduled, and that is the point. The day before the race is kept deliberately empty.

Day 4 · Sun 25 Oct
Pre-dawn transport to the start, timed backwards from your wave. After the finish, a recovery zone that is ours.

Day 5 · Mon 26 Oct
Out of the city and up into the Lidder valley. A therapist-led mobility session, and the rest of the day riverside.
What's actually different
01
A kilometre-by-kilometre plan built from your fit-check answers and this course's real gradients, handed to you at check-in.
02
We tell you whether the cut-off is a genuine risk before you book, not after your balance has cleared.
03
No shared dorms, no overbooked hotels. Your room is confirmed in writing before you pay the balance.
04
The day before the race stays deliberately empty. Nothing sightseeing-shaped gets crammed in.
05
Kashmir-based pacers who have run this exact course, not generic marathon pacers flown in for the weekend.
06
Physio, warm food and somewhere to sit down, within two minutes of the finish line.
07
One or two nights in Pahalgam after the race, with therapist-led gentle mobility. Explicitly optional.
08
A named concierge rather than a ticket queue. Any question gets an answer inside five minutes.
09
Our team includes people who have personally run this course. They know where it hurts, because it hurt them too.
